We don’t run a test lab, and we don’t claim to have visited every wash we write about. Each guide is built from sources you can check yourself:
- Prices, plan terms, and cancellation rules from each chain’s own website, app, and membership terms.
- Location counts from the chains’ own location pages and industry data such as WashIndex.
- Ratings and recurring complaints from Google reviews, Yelp, Reddit, and the Better Business Bureau.
- Local conditions from public sources, such as city water quality reports for hard water.
Many chains price by location, so guides give price ranges and tell you where to check the current price near you.
Editorial standards
- No paid placements. No car wash chain has paid to be included, ranked, or reviewed.
- No affiliate links. Links to chains and products go straight to the brand’s own site, and we earn nothing from them.
- Ads stay separate. The site may show display ads. Advertisers have no say in what we write or recommend.
- Kept current. When a chain changes its prices, plans, or cancellation terms, the guide is updated.
