How to Cancel Tommy’s Express Membership
To cancel Tommy’s Express membership, open the TommyClub app, tap My Garage, tap the vehicle, open the three-dots menu, and choose Cancel Plan.
You’ll get a confirmation email once it’s done.
There’s no fee, but the plan is month-to-month, so cancel before your renewal date or you pay for the next full month and keep the washes until it ends.
If you’ve got more than one vehicle on the account, you’ll need to cancel each one separately.

Ways to Cancel Tommy’s Express
The cancel button sits three taps deep under your vehicle, and Tommy’s support page spells out the path. Each car is canceled on its own.

After it goes through, the vehicle shows a Cancelled tag and your remaining wash time. Screenshot it, since that’s your only proof unless the email lands.
Canceling in the App
- Open the TommyClub app and tap My Garage in the bottom left.
- Tap the vehicle you want to cancel.
- Tap the menu icon, the three dots.
- Select Cancel Plan.
- Follow the prompt to either cancel outright or switch to PayPerWash.
- Tap Confirm Cancel, then check for the confirmation email.
The app works one vehicle at a time, and that is the detail people miss. Cancel one car and assume the account is closed, and the other memberships keep billing on their own dates.
It can also shift your price. The household discount takes $5 off each car from the third vehicle onward, so dropping one may change which cars still qualify.
Pausing works here too, up to three months before the plan auto-restarts.

Canceling by Phone or in Person
Tommy’s treats the app as the official route. Guest Services and staff at your signup site can help if the app gives you trouble.
This is where the franchise model bites. Most sites are independently operated, so what one location does at the counter isn’t a promise the next keeps.
If the app won’t cooperate, use the Tommy’s Express location finder to reach your signup site and ask them to confirm the cancellation in writing.
Live chat through the app’s Guest Services is the other unofficial workaround if you’re stuck without visiting in person.
Switching to PayPerWash
PayPerWash is the middle ground. It uses the same Cancel Plan prompt in the app, but you pick switch to PayPerWash instead of canceling outright.
It converts instantly, no monthly charge, and your card only gets billed the day you wash.

Adding a gift card back to the account auto-converts you from PayPerWash to a Subscription, so skip that if you want to stay off the monthly plan.

The Billing Date Rule
Plan changes take effect immediately, and your billing anniversary is your original signup date. Cancel after renewal and you’ve paid for a month you’ll want to finish using.
Say your plan renews on the 12th.
Cancel on the 5th and you keep washing through the paid period with no new charge. Cancel on the 13th and you’ve paid for another full month, with no proration or refund.
Tommy’s own advice is to hold a downgrade until the day before renewal so you use every day you paid for.
Upgrades work the opposite way. Move up a tier and you’re charged a prorated amount immediately, so there’s no reason to wait the way you would on a downgrade.
The Windshield Tag
There’s no windshield tag to peel off or return.
Tommy’s runs on license plate recognition, not a windshield sticker, so canceling just deactivates your plate and the app lanes stop recognizing your car.
Because nothing on the car shows your status, My Garage is the only place that tells you if the plan is live or dead.
Downgrading a Tier
Dropping a tier is worth trying before you cancel outright, especially if you’re washing less than the plan justifies.
It’s the same Cancel Plan flow, just a different choice in the prompt. There is no need to end the membership to spend less on it.
Hold the downgrade until the day before renewal.
Since plan changes take effect immediately, dropping a tier early means you lose the higher tier’s washes for days you already paid for.

If the Charges Don’t Stop
Work it in order, bank last. Most stray charges trace to a second vehicle that never got canceled, or a cancellation that landed after renewal.
- Open My Garage and confirm every vehicle shows a Cancelled tag, not only the one you remember.
- Search your email for the Tommy’s confirmation, spam folder included.
- Contact the location you signed up at, since a franchise operator controls your account, and ask them to confirm the cancellation date in writing.
- If a charge lands after a confirmed cancellation, ask Tommy’s support to reverse it before you escalate to your card issuer.
